Meszaros was great in juniors. His cap hit obviously sucks, but I still think he has enough potential to take a risk on. Assuming you can live with his cap hit.

Was it the 08-09 season or this past season where they had to sign a college guy to a tryout contract because they couldn't call anyone up from the AHL due to their contract/cap situation?

You guys act like homer doesn't know what he is doing. The Flyers were within two games of winning the cup last year. Let's not forget that.

With all the speculation about the Canucks trying to move Bieksa, I wonder if the Flyers would have been much better off trading for him instead of Meszaros. He is a lower cap hit, and fits into their team much better than Meszaros. Maybe they think Meszaros can bounce back and fulfill his potential as a Flyer. High risk, high reward type thing. That extra cap space could have been better spent on a goaltender.

For me the jury is still out on Meszaros. He has some +'s and some -'s.
