Leafs Trade Wade Belak to Florida
Cliff Fletcher, general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced Tuesday that the club has traded Wade Belak to the Florida Panthers in exchange for their fifth-round pick in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
Belak, 31, has appeared in 30 games for the Maple Leafs in 2007-08 and has one goal and 66 penalty minutes.

When I heard Janssen had gone to St. Louis the first thing I said to my roommate was "if he was on the market, why the hell didn't Florida or Montreal pick him up?!"
Well I guess we have an answer as to why Florida didn't get him! Good move to pick up Belak, hopefully he plays. |

Panthers need some toughness and they need to sell some tickets. They've got a lot of home games coming up. The Leafs can always re-sign him in the summer if they want to. They don't play him anyways.
