Leafs Trade Mitchell to Rangers
Brian Burke, President and General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced Monday that the hockey club has traded forward John Mitchell to the New York Rangers. In exchange, the Leafs will receive the Rangers’ seventh round pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
Mitchell collected one goal, two assists and 12 penalty minutes in 23 games with the Maple Leafs this season. He also played 10 games with the AHL’s Toronto Marlies registering five points on one goal and four assists along with two penalty minutes. In 159 career games with the Maple Leafs, he earned 20 goals and 35 assists for 55 points with 76 minutes in penalties. Mitchell was originally Toronto’s fourth choice, selected 158th overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. |
