Leafs Sign Salmelainen to One-Year Contract
The Toronto Maple Leafs announced that the club has signed forward Tony Salmelainen to a one-year contract.

Salmelainen had six goals and 17 points in 57 games with the Chicago Blackhawks last season. He has played in 70 career NHL games and recorded six goals and 12 assists for 18 points.

Salmelainen was named the top player in the Finnish elite league in 2005-06 as he scored 27 goals and added 28 assists in 53 games.

Stupid signing! LiL' Tony should be playing in europe, NHL is way too tough for him. He is fast though

Good to see that he is willing to playing in the NHL.
He wants to surely evolve to itself by player.
And Toronto saw his potential.
But it is hard to get him playing.

He was horrible for the Hawks, and extremely inconsistent.
Might be the softest player around these days.
