good move for Toronto. It won't be the same with Orr in a different division than Brashear...but maybe playing 8-10 games a year vs the B's will wake up Shawn Thornton

Brashear has never played in the same division as Orr.

And it will be 6 games this season that Toronto will see the Bruins.

Fukkin Bruin fans... I'm egging your house on New Year's Day.

It will be pretty interesting to see Orr without the cuffs on, and unde a GM who encourages pugilism. I really like this move, should really liven up the northeast division.

I agree, we'll see this season how much Orr still enjoys (or doesn't) the enforcer role. I expect to see some misbehaviour and lots of FM's from him.

Toronto is going to be fun this year no doubt.

Look forward to a 4th line that looks something like Owens-Boyle-Voros/Byers.
Easy PP. Colton Orrs game and skating have improved but he is far from the best skating hw out there. The guy is knock need. I hope you diddnt bet anyone on the guarentee cuz Donny Brash signed with the Rags.

Man Burke made Toronto alot toughter in one day. Orr, Komascerik, Exelby and a few others. It will not be a night off in Toronto this winter.....

I personally dont think Orr was that handcuffed. He established himself the first few seasons and after that most guys slow down a bit.

"SOMEWHAT SAD" but not anymore. I didn't know about 'the DON' signing nor the possibility of Neil going BLUE when I posted ..

you're right.. I keep thinking the Caps were in the same division as the Rags. I was thinking of Laraque when he was in Pitts.

I can't wait for that matchup.... Boston/Philly at Fenway... woot woot

Can you imagine if Orr suffered a "fridge like" injury in his first fight of this contract, and the Leafs are stuck paying him $4 million for primarily his hockey skills???

However, the contract isn't ridiculous...

If this is what it took for Burke to get his man, then that's fine IMO - It's about time Burke actually did one of the things he's been promising to do...

In 2-3 years this might be the toughest Leaf team ever... the question is, will they win 30 games?

Either way, with Orr in and the Sedins NOT, I am actually going to like watching Leaf games this year... this is becoming a team that is much easier to cheer for!
Burke was adamant to add immediate overall toughness to the Maple Leafs and he definitely stamped it big time with the toughness he picked up in his draft picks and now the edition of Orr, Exelby and Komiserak. No team will push around the leafs anymore.

As for the 4 year contract, I thinks reasonable when you consider that Colton Orr is in his prime at 27 and will be virtually in his prime for those 4 years.

Its an excellent pick up fo ther leafs, especially when you put in mind that it was Burke blue print afterall in getting the leafs tougher. Im sure he'll change gears and add more skilled players next year this time.

I think every teams tough guy is one of the most popular players. Dumbass anti-fighting NHL media cant get that through their heads that these players are important in building a great hockey team.

I'd rather them bring up Rosehill to be the number 2 guy in Toronto, but I guess May could do it.

Toronto really toughened up today. Great job by Burke. I wish they could have gotten Neil as well.
