I think Neil would be a great Leaf. He is not signing with Ottawa.

Imagine a long-term future with Orr, perhaps Neil, Greenop, and Devane...wow!

lol oops my bad, I overlooked the word "possibly". I hope Burke signs May and its even more likely because of their history together.

However if the Leafs have a chance to get Chris Neil. Id rather have the leafs pick him up, if they dont have cap room for both.

Ondrus would be a good signing to if they can get him cheap.

No worries.

Avery will take over the heavy lifting.

Nice to see heavyweight for Leafs, more interested rivalry against Canadiens is coming now. Welcome to Leafs Orr and meet Big Georges one time and go home.

I don't really understand why anybody is worried about the Leafs overpaying.

Maybe Orr got 150k per year too much, but it's not a big deal. Orr is a true heavy in his prime. If you need him, he is worth paying for.

The Leafs have talented players to protect. You don't want Luke Schenn getting hurt in a fight. You don't want Tom Kostopoulos to even think of hitting Mike Van Ryn like he did last year.

The Leafs are a very wealthy franchise, they can afford to pay a bit extra for the right player. 150k per year extra is a tiny amount and means little in terms of the salary cap.

For all we know the Wings offered Orr a contract, but as a fighter how could Orr turn down a 4 year deal from TO?

Cheap conversion for Leaf fans with Domi jersey's, they only have to change the name patch!

Sure beats Ryan Hollweg! Seriously good luck Colton who tried very hard to be responsible on the ice and never backed down from a fight. He gave us alot of thrills with some great right hands and was a great kid! Thanks Colton and we didn't have Bobby but we did have an Orr in NY!

It's not the $1 million per, it's the 4 years at that rate... most enforcers don't get offered contracts of this length, because they are so prone to long term injury from what they do...

Can you imagine if Orr suffered a "fridge like" injury in his first fight of this contract, and the Leafs are stuck paying him $4 million for primarily his hockey skills???

However, the contract isn't ridiculous...

If this is what it took for Burke to get his man, then that's fine IMO - It's about time Burke actually did one of the things he's been promising to do...

In 2-3 years this might be the toughest Leaf team ever... the question is, will they win 30 games?

Either way, with Orr in and the Sedins NOT, I am actually going to like watching Leaf games this year... this is becoming a team that is much easier to cheer for!

Supposedly, Burke is also trying to get Chris Neil.. That would honestly make my day. I'm a Montreal fan, in no way a Toronto fan. But I would love the idea of actually having a good time watching Hockey Night in Canada.

Brian Burke is the man, I just wish he was here in Montreal instead of Bob Gainey.

Toronto wont be pushed around anymore..
