I wish we would give John Mirasty a shot or pick up Boris Valibik to fill our # 6 D spot. Tucks I don't know if I can trust us relying on Stewart riding shotgun bro... I have my serious reservations especially in the North East but I guess we shall see.

Not to mention we can always bring up Henry if we need him but a full time mitt dropper is better.

No, I agree. Stewart would be very handy to have vs certain middle weights and agitators, but having an Alex Henry up, or say a guy that can step up to the next tier of light heavy's would be nice.

No matter what we need at least one more guy who can go, considering we have probably lost Kosto, even though he wasnt a good fighter, and have already lost Komi and Bouillon.

O'byrne and Latendresse should start playing meaner and using their size..BGL should give his teammates some pointers, at the least.

My gut feeling is that Colton Orr will not take that number in respects to Tie Domi and his legacy with the leafs. He will probably take 75 which he used in Boston or a number completely different.

But if he does take Domi number. Im sure he will try to live up to it and be the best he can be in honor of that number.

Colton will never live up to Tie's legacy. You will NEVER see him do this;

Or this;

I suspect Colton will be the last Leaf to wear the number 28 before they raise it to the rafters.

Toronto doesn't retire Jersey's to my knowledge. I think they have a ring of honour.

First off the Leafs havn't retired a number since 1993. They just call it honoured numbers when they put it up on the rafters. So that means any current leaf can take #93 #17. Although im sure no one will take it, considering the magnitude of the last players wearing those jerseys.

And of course no one will not live up to that number #28. Its impossible especially when you look at the career Tie Domi had and how the NHL is today. No one will live up to those expectations. But if Orr did take that number, he would do the best he can in honoring that number.

I say Orr would be more less like Baumgartner was when he came to the leafs. Was a very effective and popular fighter in his stint with the leafs.

Why would he want to wear Domi's number?

Well there is a good chance, when you consider Orr has used that number for most of his career even in his juniors.

Even Darryl Sittler number 27 has been used several times since he retired. And of course he was one of the great maple leafs.

So you never know.

Well it depends on the person, obviously you dont care. But there is good majority of people like myself, who think that Domi number should not be taken. If Orr does take it, then so be it. Im sure he'll do well representing that number.

I have zero problem with Orr wearing the 28, and Domi is my favourite former Leaf.

Tie Domi is my favorite Leaf ever but if Orr wants to wear #28, let him. Hell, last season there were reports that Mark Bell intended on wearing #28 but fortunately for Leafs fans he was with the Marlies all season.

Eventually someone is going to take the number and at least with Orr we're getting a fearless fighter who wears his heart on his sleeve. Works for me...

Great move Burkie!
As for the #28 thing, it's interesting to note I once heard Joe Bowen say Colton Orr told him that he picked number 28 because of Tie Domi in the first place, wouldnt be surprised to see him wear it.

For the record I dont have a problem with Orr taking that number. In fact it wouldn't bother me one bit. It fits him well, im so use to seeing Orr wearing that number.

All I was just saying is in respect to Domi. But you know what, im pretty sure Tie Domi will be ok with it. It'll be interesting to hear an interview with Domi about Orr and im sure they'll ask him about the number.

And Boogeyman2383 was right, it doesnt really matter. Whatever number Orr takes he'll be an effective enforcer for the leafs.
