Brian Burke, president and general manager of the
Toronto Maple Leafs, announced Tuesday that the hockey club has recalled goaltender
Joey MacDonald from the
Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League. The Leafs also announced that forward
John Mitchell and goaltender Vesa Toskala have been taken from the active roster and placed on injured reserve.
MacDonald, 29, was originally recalled by the Leafs on October 8 and played in three games, posting a 3.35 goals against average and a .875 save percentage. In six games with the Marlies he has registered a record of 2-4-0, a goals against average of 2.83 and a .892 save percentage.
The 6’0, 197-pound native of Pictou, Nova Scotia was originally signed as free agent by the Leafs on August, 10, 2009.
