Leafs Assign Kadri to Marlies

Brian Burke, President and General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced Wednesday that the hockey club has assigned forward Nazem Kadri to the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League.

Kadri, 21, played in five preseason games with the Maple Leafs in 2011-12, collecting two assists, a plus-one rating (+1), two penalty minutes and seven shots on goal. The 6-0, 188-pound native of London, Ontario, suffered a knee injury on September 27 at Ottawa and was placed on injured reserve October 1. He has not appeared in a regular season game with the Maple Leafs this season.

I would guess that he'll just be there for a a few weeks to get back into playing form and then they'll likely replace Dupuis with him.

from what i heard on Sportsnet last night, yes, he is not completely healed up just yet and they weren't going to use him in the road trip so assigning him so that he could work his way back up to the big club... I personally think they (the Toronto media) are putting a bit too much pressure on him, he needs to be more consistent before he is considered to be an everyday player at the NHL level (of course this is my opinion)

It's a valid opinion !!
Kadri all through junior had the same inconsistent problem , it got him benched more than once , the kid has all the talent in the world but he just doesn't use his team-mates the way he should , as long as he plays with the attitude that he can do it all himself he will be nothing but a big bust in the NHL .. JMO !!!!

Kadri needs to re-condition a bit more. What I wanna know is Where the Hell is Orr?? The Only one of my sources who can confirm anything at this time is sayin he had a family matter to attend to. But to miss the season so far?? Something ain't right....

He needs some freshening up after that injury. Don't know why the media and fans are mad at Burke and Wilson. Well, everybody should be bad at Wilson.

I'm guessing you haven't watched him much over the past year because he has changed a lot since his junior days. He seems much more mature, he works harder, plays with a surprising amount of grit and has become a better playmaker. All in all I'd say his development is coming along quite nicely and the Leafs are doing the right thing by taking it slow with him.
