Simon is playing in the KHL so not even that seems like a possibility. He can come to Sweden and get a Game misconduct just for lacing his skates the wrong way. We tend to give GM's for everything here in our 'Elite' league.

Hollweg may have to answer the bell for his actions a lot more with no Colton Orr riding shotgun. I wish him well and he is a ton more entertaining than some other fourth liners.

I can send you an autographed picture from Lance Ward playing for Frankfurt.
Just kidding, Germany isnt better.Prolly even worse than Sweden.

Hollweg- if the Leafs go for a heavyweight like Brennan its a good signing.
Hollweg is a good checker and loves to start trouble.
Imo he is even more a trouble maker than Newbury or Ondrus- who are both better players and fighters-

But now the leafs definitly need a heavyweight to finish the trouble and to help Hollweg out.

If not Hollweg wont be effectice for them-

Exactly, I'm shocked that Sather got a 5th round pick for this stiff. I've been calling for him and Betts to be gone as they suck and are AHL players and now one is gone!
Good, the Rangers need to upgrade the talent level and also cut some payroll and maybe bring back Shanahan for another year!
Hollweg has no talent, takes stupid penalties, and can't fight out of a paperbag!
Otherwise he was great!

First decent pickup this summer, still waiting for the heavyweight though.

There were LOTS of guys on the FA market that were equal or greater than Hollweg that they could have signed for cheap and without giving up a pick...

But that, my friend, is not the Toronto way.

Utility players are everywhere - you are correct. But most teams find ways to acquire them OTHER THAN trading away picks that they acquire from trading away other legit assets like Gill...

Hollweg is inconsequential. This deal is a sign that not much has changed in TO.

So far, Fletcher has been EXTREMELY unimpressive in my eyes.

Maybe there is hope in Edmonton? Finally, a guy in charge who doesn't believe Lennart Petrell is a legitimate roster player.

why not get Colton ?

ole Fletcher should have made a move to get Colton Orr if he wanted to get a legit tough guy, a bad mistake was the trading of Wade Belak.

This piece of crap never should have made it out of the minors, anything more than 50 cents and a stick of gum for this guy is a ripoff.

looking at the moves this team makes, it almost seems like it's just to make moves and not look completely inactive in a much less rich free agent pool. I can see Hollweg being hated because he is no Tucker, he plays a style similar to his, but he does NOT play with the same intensity nor has the same scoring touch that Tucker has.

If the Leafs finish 14th or higher in the East next year I will be shocked. Has anyone actually sat down and looked at this team as a whole. ITS HORRIBLE!! I think their trying to tank. Sure they'll be "tougher", but is tougher defined by players who are just willing to fight for the hell of it with no playing ability and are willing to take the stupidest penalties possible?? Might as well give Nathan Perrott another shot if thats the case....

Unless they add a heavyweight Hollweg is useless. He won't play the same style without someone else to shoulder the knuckles load.

He is like a no-frills version of Darcy Tucker. Both look the same and both fight the same. Still overall Hollweg is a much shyttierr version.
