I really think that with Garth Snow as your GM the Islanders will be enforcer-less. I feel like he has made it clear that he doesnt see the need to have one. Brennan was as close as you guys had to one now that Witt doesnt fight anymore. Tim Jackman was never anything more than an NHL punchiing bag. Let me just clarify...by enforcer I mean a true heavyweight a la Derek Boogard, Colton Orr, BGL. I would love to see Mitch Fritz have a permanent spot in the Isles roster, but I dont see that happening given the past moves made by the organization.

As a ranger fan, theres nothing more I'd like for the Islanders to have a tough guy or two just to make the season series a little more interesting. Its kind of sad that the rivalry is basically dead.

I agree with you. And it's extra frustrating because Snow didn't shy away from the rougher part of the game during his playing days, even as a goalie. I don't understand why he doesn't see the value of playing an enforcer, but it does appear he doesn't think one is needed.

I agree but disagree, its pissed me off the last two seasons with that. I think Nolan had a lot to do with it, Snow said that he promised protection for the youngsters in a press conference awhile back so I can see Fritz having a spot for games where its needed at least.

On a Ranger note, Zipay doesnt seem very sure that Orr is going to have a permanent spot this season, that would be shi**y.

That's just the way it's going to go."

He makes "a colour" to our league but it isn't his league at all.
A good talk from Tom Nybondas; -We creates about space for skill by a toughness, when HIFK did a deal with Brennan.
