Kings Recall Kevin Westgarth

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings have recalled forward Kevin Westgarth from the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

Westgarth, 25, made his Kings/NHL debut with the Kings earlier this season, recording zero points and zero penalty minutes in two games. The 6-5, 241-pound native of Amherstburg, Ontario, was originally signed by the Kings as a free agent on March 16, 2007, after playing his college hockey at Princeton.

Westgarth began the 2008-09 season with the Monarchs. In 55 games with Manchester, he has eight points (2-6=8) and a team-leading 146 penalty minutes.

Need for "physical presence", where the hell is big boy Raitis Ivanans? I like Westgarth getting the call, but is Raitis doing his job out there?

Glad to see Westgarth back. Wonder if we'll see him go at it with Boogs tomorrow.

Awesome. Is Boogaard back from his suspension though? Who do the Kings have coming up? Any potential match ups?
