Kings Place Williams on IR; Recall Scott Parse
 

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings have recalled forward Scott Parse and have loaned forward Corey Elkins to the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League (AHL), Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today. In addition, the Kings have placed forward Justin Williams on the injured reserve list (retroactive to Dec. 27).

Parse, 25, has played in 27 games with the Kings this season, his first in the NHL, and has 11 points (4-7=11) and 12 penalty minutes. The 5-11, 197-pound native of Portage, Michigan, has also played in 10 games with Manchester this season, recording 13 points (3-10=13), six penalty minutes and team-leading plus-11 rating.

Elkins, 24, has played in three games with the Kings this season, recording one goal and zero penalty minutes. He made his NHL debut Dec. 15 in Edmonton and scored his first NHL goal Dec. 17 at Calgary. The 6-3, 216-pound native of West Bloomfield, Michigan, has also played in 31 games with Manchester this season and has 20 points (8-12=20), tied for the team lead.

Williams, 28, suffered a broken leg during the Kings-Coyotes game Saturday. The 6-1, 193-pound native of Cobourg, Ontario, has recorded 24 points (8-16=24) and 31 penalty minutes in 22 games this season.

terry murray had an optimistic estimation of 3 months for williams. theyre not quite writing him off for the season yet.
