LOS ANGELES – The
Los Angeles Kings today placed center
Jeremy Roenick on the injured reserve list (retroactive to December 20) due to a fractured left finger, Kings President, Hockey Operations/General Manager Dave Taylor announced.
Roenick, 35, suffered the injury during the second period of Monday night’s Kings-
Vancouver Canucks game in Vancouver. He is expected to miss approximately six weeks after undergoing a surgical procedure yesterday by hand specialist Dr. Steve Shin at the Kerlan Jobe Surgery Center.
In 32 games with the Kings this season, Roenick has 13 points (6-7=13) and 28 penalty minutes. In 1,156 career NHL regular season games with the Kings,
Philadelphia Flyers,
Phoenix Coyotes and
Chicago Blackhawks, the 6-1, 196-pound native of Boston has 1,133 points (481-652=1,133) and 1,363 penalty minutes.
