LOS ANGELES – The
Los Angeles Kings have activated defenseman
Mattias Norstrom from the injured reserve list, Kings President, Hockey Operations/General Manager Dave Taylor announced today.
Norstrom, 33, was placed on the injured reserve on October 4 (retroactive to September 27) with a hamstring injury, and the 6-2, 210-pound native of Stockholm, Sweden, missed the Kings’ first two regular season games.
Acquired by the Kings from the
New York Rangers with Nathan LaFayette,
Ian Laperriere,
Ray Ferraro and a fourth-round choice (Sean Blanchard) in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft for
Marty McSorley, Jari Kurri and
Shane Churla on March 14, 1996, Norstrom has 114 points (10-104=114) and 515 penalty minutes in 684 career NHL regular season games with the Kings and the Rangers.
