Quincey is a promising top 4 dman, Preissing, well he'll spend time in the A. As for the 5th rounder.....garbage.

wow looks like a pretty nice deal for LA. Smyth is horribly overpaid but hes a pretty good and gritty winger. looks like a pure salary dump as the Avs look to rebuild.

Quincy is by far the best player in return. I dont really mind Preissing, he played at CC....

But they have a plethora of others.

i'm not very pleased about losing Quincey. he's a solid young player. that said, welcome to LA Ryan! at least he won't run our goalie any more!

I sure hope you wenrt asking for Jack Johnson in the deal....Johnson alone for an aging Ryan Smyth is a steal.

I think Colorado got the best of the deal, but not by a wide margin at all. Smyth is a character guy with size, and is capable of dropping the gloves, at times, not to mention hes a leader.

I change my mind, its a good deal both ways.

Lets be honest Smyth doesnt drop em. And you should hear every other Avs fan freaking out about the trade. I'm impartial at the moment.

Quincey in my opinion is the best player in the trade. An aging forwad isn't what la needs. They should build their team around their strong young d core. But again their management ****s things up. Good deal for Colorado.

Good move for the Avs.

Ryan Smyth, putting up near 60 points, for $6.5 million - great move for the Avs. A gross over payment, IMO. Now, they get a young, near 40 point, solid defenseman. The kind of guy that ancient blue line needed. With the guys returning to the Avs, if healthy, I don't think they miss Smyth all that much - especially now that they have cap room to make moves and improve other gaping holes.
