i'm not very pleased about losing Quincey. he's a solid young player. that said, welcome to LA Ryan! at least he won't run our goalie any more!

I think Colorado got the best of the deal, but not by a wide margin at all. Smyth is a character guy with size, and is capable of dropping the gloves, at times, not to mention hes a leader. I change my mind, its a good deal both ways.

Good move for the Avs.
Ryan Smyth, putting up near 60 points, for $6.5 million - great move for the Avs. A gross over payment, IMO. Now, they get a young, near 40 point, solid defenseman. The kind of guy that ancient blue line needed. With the guys returning to the Avs, if healthy, I don't think they miss Smyth all that much - especially now that they have cap room to make moves and improve other gaping holes. |
