James Wisniewski and Brad Staubitz Suspended Pending Hearings

NEW YORK – Columbus Blue Jackets' defenseman James Wisniewski and Minnesota Wild forward Brad Staubitz have both been suspended indefinitely pending a hearing and the completion of a review by the NHL's Department of Player Safety for incidents that occurred in Friday night's preseason game in St. Paul, NHL Senior Vice President of Player Safety Brendan Shanahan announced today.

Wisniewski received a minor penalty for an illegal check to the head of Minnesota forward Cal Clutterbuck 20:00 into the third period.

Staubitz received a major penalty and game misconduct for checking from behind 4:24 into the third period.

i didn't see these plays but what the f*ck is going on here. every borderline hit is now going to be suspended with some stupid video explaining it.

the leblond hit was literally a normal 2 minute boarding penalty and the shelley hit was nowhere near bad enough to warrant ten games.

i thought colin campbell was inconsistent and perhaps didn't have that much integrity, but so far shanahan is proving to be much worse.

Stuabitz did get a 1 game suspension a while back for hitting someone on the iceing. Plus he is a hard nosed player. Im going 5-10 games.

Wiz, repeat offender, but a star player in Coloumbus. Going 2-6 games.
