Jacques to Undergo Back Surgery, Out For the Year

J.F. Jacques’ back problems have flared up again and he will surgery in Los Angeles later this week. Jacques’ back acted up at various points this season and the Oilers were hoping the two week break might be enough rest, but his back isn’t responding so he’ll go under the knife again.

His career is done.

He was a gamble to start with due to his back problems, but no team in their right mind is going to reserve a roster spot for this kid... his back cannot stay healthy.

He's got enough talent to be the 12-14th forward on most NHL teams, but you need those guys to be available to play, not sitting on the IR for more time than they are healthy....

His year in the NHL has been so-so... hitting lots, fighting great (for a non-heavy - his card looks pretty good), but scoring has not come... again... at the NHL level. This is the guy who scored 4 goals in a game in the AHL, but has consistently been unable to translate that to NHL success.

I love crazy train, but I honestly think this is lights out for him.
