Islanders Sign Mikko Koskinen
The Islanders signed goaltender Mikko Koskinen on Monday to a three-year, entry-level deal.
Koskinen played the last two seasons in the Finnish Elite League, playing for the Espoo Blues. The 6’5”, 182 pound net-minder had a 17-9-7 record and a 1.91 goals against average and a .932 save percentage. Koskinen, a native of Vantaa, Finland, was selected in the second round, 31st-overall by the Islanders last month in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. |

This may mean Lawson is out. Monroe will be the starter in BPT, meaning theres no room for Lawson.

That's a shame, he had a really good year for the Sound Tigers last season. I'm still not a fan of the Munroe signing considering our third string guy will inevitably spend a lot of time with the NHL club with DiPietro and Roloson as the goaltending duo. But maybe when DP gets hurt again Lawson will have a spot again in Bridgeport if they keep him in the organization.

They obviously see something in Koskinen. Plus he's a lot younger than Mannino, but we will see how that plays out.
