Islanders Sign Eric Boulton

The New York Islanders officially announced today that forward Eric Boulton has agreed to terms on a one-year contract.

Boulton, 35, recorded 115 penalty minutes in 51 games last season with the New Jersey Devils. In 600 career NHL games with the Buffalo Sabres, Atlanta Thrashers and New Jersey, the Halifax, NS, native has 73 points (27 goals, 46 assists) and 1,265 penalty minutes. He has also appeared in four Stanley Cup Playoff games with the Thrashers.

The New York Rangers selected Boulton in the ninth round, 234th overall, of the 1994 NHL Entry Draft. He made his professional debut in the 1996-97 season after completing a three-year junior career in the Ontario Hockey League, split between the Oshawa Generals and the Sarnia Sting. Boulton, a 6’1, 220-pound forward, has appeared in 133 career American Hockey League games and 171 ECHL games.

Yes!

Glad to see Boulton still sticking around in the NHL and in the East!

Can't wait to see him beat up some Rangers and for him and Janssen to have a few tussles again!

WOOOOOOOOO!

Garth's band-aid for Isles fans after losing Haley. Two heavies and Matty Martin? I'm in.

Let's see...the Isles have Carkner, Boulton and Martin. The Rags have Rupp, Bickel, Asham and Haley. The Devils have Janssen and Clarkson. The Flyers have Shelley, Sestito and Rinaldo.

The Pens have Engelland and Glass, and maybe MacIntyre for 5 games and 0 fights.

Hello Ray? You might want to bring in some more toughness to protect your franchise player with a bad neck and head.

Damn, isles loading up. Glad Boulton found a job, he still has some in the tank and always throws down.
