Islanders Recall Mitch Fritz

Quote:
If it's Philadelphia, that must mean enforcer Mitch Fritz is back in the lineup. Just got the word that he's up from Bridgeport for the 1 p.m. game against the Flyers today at Wachovia Center.

I'm guessing under 2 minutes of ice time for the guy, but at least he's back with the NHL team.

You dont have to guess. That's factual. I remember going to a game up here, he played one shift, no BGL on the ice, he skated around for 40 seconds and then went back to the bench.

The only action he saw after that was sliding his ass around the bench for the next 2 and a half periods.

I bet he'll be up for the next week or so, since the Isles play Philly, the Pens, plus the Rangers over the next week.

Any solid intel on Fritz staying for more than a couple of games? Who's out in the Isles lineup?

Fritz didn't look so good on that 3rd Flyers goal. I'm really surprised that he had over 6 minutes of ice time.

Hunter is still out, and with the Doug Weight injury, it opened up a new roster spot. Before those two guys went down, Sim and Tambellini had been getting scratched, but today Sim was in with Fritz and Tambellini was the healthy scratch.

And NJD, I agree totally. That goal off the Fritz giveaway was pretty tough to watch.

Wrong as you are in every post.

Fritz looked okay until that goal, which was f**king terrible. Cote and Asham (not like Asham should) seemed uninterested in fighting.
