Good news, Cizikas or Martin will be moving up a line and Boulton will be on the fourth for the next two games. Both games against the Devils.

He would have been fine had he not put force behind that hit, but either way, it's not worth 2 games. The major + GM was enough IMO.

No one likes Ben Lovejoy.

Engelland was on the ice, and all he did was push McDonald while he was down after the hit, evidently to save the major PP (that they only managed 3 shots on). Very disappointing. It seems like they're scared to do anything to protect their teammates, and it's been that way ever since the brawl with the Isles 2 years ago. Sometimes you have to take the Bettman 17 to send a message and the hell with the PP.

Incorrect:

Islanders right wing Colin McDonald , who played five games with the Penguins last season, was suspended two games for Tuesday's hit from behind on defenseman Ben Lovejoy, wholeft the game in the second period but returned for the third. “I'm good,” Lovejoy said. “I had a bloody nose. Whenever we get hit in the head now, we have to see the doctor for a while. I passed all of that.” Lovejoy said the hit “wasn't clean” but that he didn't believe it was done with malicious intent.

I don't get it. Does shanny have beef against the Sabres? What's the last time a player got punished for doing something against Buffalo? Ruff was hinting that Kaleta should have seen that hit and avoided it. What a schitty coach not defending his own player. I think Lindy's comments is a factor to Brown getting nothing.

"What a ****ty coach for not defending his own player"........

We finally get a coach who is pretty much stating the truth and outs his player for doing the very thing thats killing the game today and your pissed at the coach?

When you watch the play, you clearly see that Kaleta see's he is going to get hit and could very easily still play the puck AND get out of the way or avoid most of the contact and instead turns his back to the oncoming check...........

It's crap like this that is getting guys hurt and concussed..........not sure about the rest of you guys but from the time I strapped on skates I was taught how to give and RECEIVE a check, and was told the worst thing you could do was turn away and face the boards............now all of a sudden guys are being instructed to turn your back to the play to draw the penalty.....

I for one am glad a coach finally had the balls to call the player on it.

...I can understand if a minor was assessed on the play,...but NO WAY was that a major,...and WHY for god-sakes a GM, too?? Shanahan, through all his mis-guided rulings ( and that includes foolish fines and suspensions ) is phasing-out the hitting and physical-play aspect of hockey,....IT'S TRUE,...
