Well now that we are clear on that I am ready for the season.

That fact that the Islanders have better fighters could effect the outcome of the game first of all. Carkner knows how to intimidate and a date with Rupp will only embolden him. If the Isles play all of these guys they could cause the Rangers to lose composure if they play the game right. The Rangers won't back down, but they won't dictate play like they want to. Haley would help but the Rangers would have to get some good match ups to enforce their will.

Second, we don't know who Torts will play. I think Bickel will play but are we sure? The Isles pretty much need to play these guys right now. And Sather could do what he wants but Torts would have to play whoever he gets. Yes he played Scott when he thought we had the conference wrapped up but I don't see that happening again. They just let the best fighter in the game pass waivers so I don't think they are looking.

Bottom line they need the guy and could use him right now, they really could

Another reason to be happy, Wishart was waived today to make room for Finley .

DeHaan is out for the season. The four D-men I was referring to were MacDonald, Striet, Hamonic aand Carkner. Donovan was not invited to camp, Wishart has been waived and Reinhart is nowhere near ready to play in hte NHL.

They signed Martinek and now Finley. Now they have 6.

Jon Landry has a better chance of staying up than Wishart. Hence, the reasoning of why Finley has the best chance of playing here. It's the worst defense in the NHL with or without Finley...might as well keep the size.
Love how this guy was seriously doubting what Ive been saying. WTF man, like i dont know what im talking about??? Seriously?

Didn't know about deHaan's injury. Donovan will definitely get a call up IMO, he can play in the NHL, Reinhart will attend camp if I'm not wrong (?), and who knows maybe if he shows he is somehow ready he could stay...remember that this is a short season, maybe the Islanders think he is ready for 48 games.

When the Sabres got Finlay he was thought to be a future of the team. Guess not. I remember there was some discussions about his character because of this scrum:

Trust me, there were a lot of things that called into question Fin's character, but this wasn't one of them. A lot of teams like the passion and nastyness a 6'8 blue liner showed during his time with UND.

He's got an issue with the sauce and injury concerns on top of character concerns.

Ummm...Reinhart should be nowhere near this team come opening night. If they wanna try him out for 5 games so be it. But he is far from ready for this. He needs to be back in Edmonton.

Yup, he was part of the handshake scrum. It clearly is him. Everybody was on the ice.

I don't ever recall hearing the name Joe Finley, and the phrase "future of the team" in the same sentence.
