Islanders Acquire Rob Davison

Good to see the Isles make this move.

The Sharks had an abundance of d-men, and after picking up Brian Campbell, they needed to ship some out.

Davison is a tough guy and good team player - so at least he will help out with the Isles' team toughness. They still just need an elite heavy.

The Islanders just got tougher for basically nothing. Great pickup as toughness is desperatley needed in that lineup.

good move, he was very tough on the sharks, just hope he plays tough for the isles, at least colton orr has someone he can fight now !!

Davisson is a good team first guy that will fight the HW although he's a bit undersized for the SHW.

Out with the soft, offensive defenceman in Marc-Andre Bergeron, and in with a tough, stay at home d-man in Davison. Good to see the Isles getting back to hockey a little bit by getting tougher.

Very underrated fighter. I want to see him play every game. He was healthy scratched so much in San Jose.

LOL. True. They are in rebuilding modus every offseason and deadline for a long time now. And still they don't look like they have a core of players to build a team around. Well ok they have DiPietro.

The good thing for Davison is that Nolan seems to be the only coach in the NHL that doesn't mind having a d-man who fights regularly.

I agree- got him for basically nothing. a 7th rounder? Wilson may as well have gotten the proverbial bag of pucks.

For the Isles fans, sure you need scoring, but having some physical presence on your team might just give your guys some extra room to make plays. Why do I even have to suggest this here?

Bergeron did bring a great shot to the rink, but he was responsible for more goals against than he helped produce.

Yeah, but Bergeron made McCabe's defensive abilities look like Scott Stevens or Chris Pronger
