Islanders Acquire Lubomir Visnovsky From Ducks, Visnovsky Appeal Declined

The New York Islanders announced today that they have acquired Lubomir Visnovsky from the Anaheim Ducks, in exchange for the team’s second round selection in the 2013 National Hockey League Draft.

Visnovsky has played the last three seasons with the Ducks, totaling 108 points (29 goals and 79 assists) in 165 games. He had a career year with Anaheim during the 2010-11 campaign, when he scored 18 goals and 50 assists (68 points) in 81 games.

The 5’10”, 197-pound defenseman spent two seasons playing for the Edmonton Oilers from 2008-2010. Visnovsky scored 63 points (18 goals and 45 assists) over the two years in Edmonton. The Los Angeles Kings originally drafted Visnovsky, where he played seven years with the organization, accumulating 279 points (70 goals and 209 assists) in 499 games with the Kings.

A native of Topolcany, Slovakia, Visnovsky has played for his country in four Winter Olympics, totaling eight points (four goals and four assists) in 19 games. Visnovsky has also represented Slovakia at nine World Championships, as well as the World Cup Tournament in 1996 and 2004.

Wait until we trade for Tim Thomas to reach the cap floor, and Wang won't have to pay him because he won't play. But the cap hit will still count.

It may actually be worse for Isles fans than last summer.

lol....Trade you Scott Gomez and Tomas Kaberle for a fourth rounder and an end of the road prospect, Gauranteed both guys would show up to camp willing to play.....lol .. Or they will be riding the bus in Hamilton next season if they don't agree....

Some fans are speculating that Wang and Snow covered it up to sell more season tickets. They promised us a top 4 d-man, and without him, they lose a lot of money. More than usual. Nothing Wang does would shock me. Crooked fuch.
