You might want to learn more about the Canes, Eric is expected to move to wing (as he did last year, see below) and not center.

He'll be fine. They rarely ever even played on the same line.

I assume they did play together on a same powerplay line and PP is the best chance to rack up some points. Ovechkin is going through one of the biggest crisis megastar player went through in the NHL in like last 10 years? Semin departure is problem for OV

They did, and Semin only contributed two goals to our 18th ranked powerplay last year while Ovechkin doubled his PPG totals from 2010. And the majority of his PPG's come from pounding slapshots from the point. The biggest reasons for Ovechkin's lack of scoring last year was a result of the loss off Nicklas Backstrom and Dale Hunter's defense first system. Backstrom is healthy now and I can all but guarantee Ovechkin will have a more productive season this year and a much more productive season as long as he lays off the vodka and happy meals this offseason. Im not at all worried about his production suffering because of Semin leaving.

Wideman is not going to resign with the Caps. Us fans hate him and he is not welcome back.

Semin will stay in the SE, probably the Canes, but maybe Florida.

Had to come on here to gloat a little, I had a feeling this was where he was going. He seems like the guy who could center his whole year around shoving his talent down his former team's throats.

I would've given him a shot. One year...if it works, you look like a genius, and can lock him up long-term. If it fails, welp it was only one year and he's off the books.

Well if this doesn't make you $hyt a little popcorn chicken, I don't know what will.

Hurricanes arn't messing around this off-season are they ? All they need now is a tough-guy and some grit in that lineup and they would go from looking good to GREAT!

semin signs good for vodka sales in north carolina

great 7 mil for 20 goals ... and he drinks vodka all the time on the road...good for the bars in the area but a couple of better D-men at 3.5 mil would have been better..most over paid player in North Carolina professional sports
