Hurricanes Recall Dalpe and Gragnani; Assign Nodl and Jordan to Charlotte (AHL)

RALEIGH, NC – Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has recalled forward Zac Dalpe and defenseman Marc-Andre Gragnani from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL). Forward Andreas Nodl and defenseman Michal Jordan have been reassigned to Charlotte.

This marks the second NHL stint of the season for Dalpe, 23, who made the team’s roster out of training camp. The Paris, Ont., native earned two assists in six games with the Hurricanes before being assigned to Charlotte on Feb. 3. Dalpe (6’1”, 190 lbs.) ranks second among Checkers skaters in goals (18) and points (36) in 45 games on the AHL level. He also leads the team in plus/minus (+17).

Gragnani’s recall is his first of the season, and his first NHL recall with the Hurricanes. The 25-year old, Montreal native ranks tied for second among Checkers defensemen in scoring this season with 21 points (1g, 20a) and is tied for third among AHL defensemen in power-play assists (16). Signed by the Hurricanes as a free agent on July 11, 2012, Gragnani (6’2”, 201 lbs.) has played 73 career NHL games with Buffalo and Vancouver, totaling 18 points (3g, 15a).
