Hurricanes Deal Joe Corvo to Bruins

RALEIGH, NC – Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has acquired Boston’s fourth-round pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft from the Bruins in exchange for defenseman Joe Corvo.

“We thank Joe for his time with the Hurricanes and wish him well as he continues his career,” said Rutherford.

Surprised Boston would go for a guy like that. Looks like you basically got Corvo and we got Kaberle and a 4th.

Kinda funny, anytime I see Corvo in a headline it makes me think of a host from the NHL network coining "adventures in defense with Joe Corvo."

Kaberle and Corvo... mix and match the two, and either way ya slice it, it's a guy that turns the puck over and provides everything he's worth on the other end of the rink.

At least Corvo shoots a hell of a lot more than Kaberle. Match him with McQuaid and tell Adam to never pinch, because you never really know how bad Corvo will be out of position.

Corvo has some slick puck skills and a rocket shot, but he might be the worst D man defensively in the NHL.

Well, unless MA Bergeron is still in the league.

Hopefully instead of punching bitches in the bar, he uses his fists in a game. Damn it might as well kept Kaberle.

Joe Corvo = Dennis Wideman with a more accurate shot.

Just going to say this.

I like the move a lot. There are always rumors of Corvo coming to Boston at every deadline. The guy should help the powerplay, but the same was said about Kaberle. He is a right handed shot so he and Chara could let some one-timers fly. We get a decent player at a decent price and he is a UFA at season's end. Low risk, high reward deal in my eyes.

Corvo can't be any worse than Kaberle...
