I doubt you'll see Westy against the Lightning. BJ Crombeen, PC Labrie and Ryan Malone don't exactly strike fear into the hearts of anyone. Who knows....maybe we could see some of the boys from the 'Cuse come up for a game. I doubt it....

I can't figure out what is more surprising. The fact the Kings got that much in return for Westgarth? Or the fact the Hurricanes actually placed some sort of value on a tough guy?

(I'm not saying Clackson should be called up, I'm just using the fact that Hershey has one of the more active and better fighters in the AHL and they don't use him and combining that with how Washington generally does things, it makes no sense for them to try and get tough now, even though the rest of the division is.)

Kind of an over payment. Never understood trading for a not even top 10 enforcer at the start of the season. Why not just sign someone? Good move for canes though

Westy and Garrison is a nice 1-2 with Larose causing drama. Hope the east doesnt let down. Kind of figured Westy was going to be on the outs since King/Clifford can handle most of the west teams. Biz is the only guy I can see giving King trouble unless PLL and Bordeleau make their repected teams.

**** YES!!!

Hopefully he gets to play 48 or so games this season, lol. Harrison, Gleason, and Westgarth isn't too bad. Not to mention that they might possibly be looking for more 4th line grit as well.

And Anthony Stewart, as nice of a human being as he is, totally sucked ass for 99% of his ice time. He's no loss at all. I was expecting him to be traded for "future considerations" at the most, simply to clear a spot for a Checker to come up.

Didn't know why he was Bill Cowhers son in law. That explains why he was in the area skating with Canes players in the recent past.

I wonder how Westgarth feels about this trade when the Hurricanes face the Sabres and eventually Scott.

He's fought him twice before, did pretty well the second time. He said in a interview last year that he looked forward to fighting him again.

Its about f*cking time that the Canes got a legit tough guy! Nice move for them. Glad to see another heavy come east!

Good move, hope Westgarth gets some playing time, surely the Canes need protection for some of the skill guys they've aquired. ECAC guy, love it!
