Dupuis and Kunitz are in their 30s. If they trade Paul Martin, they'd have nearly 15 million in cap space. They'd be fools not to try for Parise. And early chatter indicates they're serious about going for him.

Good deal by the Pens. Surprised they still got so much though given that it was public that staal wanted out and to the Canes.

Pretty much exactly what I was going to say.

Nice trade, think the Pens did very very well considering. Damn, now I wonder what Nash will pull in since Staal got all that.

I think it validates Howson's asking price. Honestly it makes it very real that the CBJ are able to draw a line in the sand.

All of this is BS overblown by the media. Jordan Staal has never publicly stated any of this.

No...instead he stated it by rejecting the Pens' contract offer. As soon as he did that, the writing was on the wall. I'm very satisfied with the deal and that Sutter was included. Good job by Ray Shero.

Well, Staal said after the Pens were eliminated that he wanted to stay in Pittsburgh. Look how that turned out. Nothing is etched in stone, not even going to the Rangers after he said publicly that he would not.

I approved of this trade. Thanks for your 6 years of service Jordan but now it's time to move on. I remember telling friends and Co-workers that one day the big 3 on the Pens will end and it will be Staal who will be moved. Most people thought Malkin would be the first one to leave. I don't know much about Brian Dumoulin but i hear he is a highly regarded prospect.

but the devils may not have the funding to afford him. so he may not be able to stay a devil.

he wants in upwards of $7 million/season and the devils can't afford that.

the wild have the most money and will out bid anybody for him.

The only set of bros there are the Staal's. The Sedin twins are both sisters.

I would've thought the same thing about Jagr and Talbot going to Philly.

i understand what your saying, but staal did wanna stay, he just wanted more minutes and a better role. And he will get that in carolina.
