They diddnt let a 50 goal scorer go he chose to leave. Fuk him and his groin. He wanted to leave MN for brighter lights (good riddance). I must say I enjoyed watching him play when healthy but what a band aid. Yeah, we did sign Havlat and he is also injury prone but at least he wants to be here. Not an upgrade but not that far off from Gaborik. Havlat should be solid. He is also entering his prime, i've always thought he was a good player and entertaing to watch. Solid singing for a team that vows to become more offensive minded.

Plus they got Havlat for 3 million a year less! which is going to allow them to put more quality players. The Wild aren't done yet, they still got money and trade bait. Oh, and Havlat better on the defensive end. I liked Gabby but feel good about this so far>

it is a big improvement for the wild cause havlat will at least play both ends, that gaborik did with no heart. he was all offense and no defense. havlat showed all year last year that he can play both ends and not be a hazard late in games. lets hope the concussion from kronwall doesnt haunt him and his shoulder heals as well. i guess good luck to him.

He signed for $1M less a year than what he was making here. Six years for a guy who has had trouble staying healthy is a risk. I agree with chilly, he will play both ends of the ice. To me, it is a good deal for Havlat, a guy who can play, when healthy and for the team who gets him. Again, when healthy.

Yeah, I hear you. He has had 6 seasons of 65 games or more though. Only 17 last year.
I think Havlat has a lot more upside, as he is more of a two way player and can be more physical. I really wish him well and hope he has a career year.

as far as character goes, Havlat is much more liked then Gaborik is. Gaborik was pretty much a selfish prick there last season getting Minnesota no shot at getting a decent return for a guy that was "injured".
This is a good shot for Havlat, he should do decently in Minnesota.

It would be good to see him have a good year. Saw him play at the U/C a lot and always was a threat to score every time he touched the puck.

And did you ever check out how many games Havlat has played before last season? 18 games in 05-06, 56 games in 06-07, 35 games in 07-08 and only last season he reached 81 games. But that are less games then Gaborik did play. Besides that they save some money they did not improve at all.
