Pens news conf. at 130...Seems Fedotenko resigned. May be a trade as well.

And now it seems as though it may be a contract extension. Letang resigning for 5 yrs at 15 mil. No confirmation though.

Lol GREAT point. But I think the "deal" would be to free up room for Heatley, which would come after the 3 way day. Either way.

Any news lately on Koivu? I am really hoping the Wild lock him up to help fill our void of talent up front. Also it would be killer to see him play alongside his brother. Last I heard the Wild, Ducks, and Rags were in the running, but the Rangers have been signing like crazy and they have to be closing in on the cap!?

According to Swedish media, Jason Krog has signed with Atlanta and Darren Haydar leans toward Colorado

Hearing Jack Johnson to the Pens. Eklund has apparently heard this from members of both the Pens and Kings organizations.

Just Eklund, not trying to ruffle any feathers here, but this sounds a little more "viable" than most.

I doubt there is anything to this, Pitt have about 2 mil of cap-space, Johnson is on more than that, they'd have to move some people who command a fair chunk of the cap, talking of which, does anyone have a link to a site where you can see who takes what of a cap?

Well, since Jack Johnson in s RFA, the Pens may trade someone to get his rights. Thus, clearing up more space. It won't take too much to sign him and be under the cap. From what I read, he deserves around $3 million cap hit.

A good site is www.nhlnumbers.com but since its the offseason they havent updated it. During the season, the site is gold medal worthy.

Couple of times ive heard Staal would go to the Kings or maybe the Pens even trade a couple prospects and a roster guy and then the Pens dump Orpik to Buffalo. Completly hypothetical but Johnson's name is being tied here alot lately.

Trading Orpik would be a disaster. IMO Orpik is worth 2 Johnsons.

The Pens have about $2 million left in cap room, so someone is going to have to go the other way in order to make room for Johnson. I personally don't see it happening and I don't see them trading any of their top defensemen in order to get him. It wouldn't shock me if Alex Goligoski is part of that deal, actually. It would make more sense, IMO. Plus, apparently Johnson is good friends with Sid from their days at Shattuck St. Mary's, so that may be influential as well.

Pens have large plans with GoGo this year, so i dont see him even being "touchable". Ive heard Gonchar's name too but that makes even less ense when he has said he wants to retire a Pen and would take a large discount to do so. So to sum it up I really dont see anything happening and the Pens signing a 5th/6th dman that can play some solid D and not just be a puck mover. Its great Jack Johnson is even being tied with the Pens and I am sure he would love playing here but his contract demands, coupled with the depth the Pens have at D, and our salary cap room it just dosent add up.

After Quincy was traded, IMO Johnson is going no where unless a "D" man is coming back the other way. I would think it would have to be a top 4 "d" man. Pens do you have any top 4 "d" that they would get rid of?

Haydar was a lazy player for Grand Rapids. Most of his points came on the powerplay.
