I think he was just being civil given that Ranger only has an AHL deal, not wanting to step on toes or open any cans of worms. He'll get an invitation to camp and if he performs well an NHL deal will be his. It seems like he really wants to play at home which is rare for the Leafs

With it looking like Fraser plays in the bigs who are they gonna send down to open a spot for Ranger? And with the new CBA I don't think they can bury contracts in the minors so barring an injury I don't think your gonna see Ranger in the bigs. I agree with your sentiment though.

I could only hear bits and pieces but I think I just heard Ovechkin on Sportsnet b*tching about something to do with 24 percent of his salary being reduced eventually and how he would rather play at home in front of his family and friends. If anyone else actually caught more of it and can add more context that would be good.

he always seems to deny them, then when no one expects it....it seems to come to fruition lol Bryz is our goalie for this yr, if he blows @ss again then maybe something happens. but i personally think its prolly a lateral move if it ever did happen
