Asham used to handle 3rd line minutes just fine. Him being injured all the time did him in. He will find an NHL job.

Bob McKenzie tweeted that Boston is close to re-signing Chris Kelly and Gregory Campbell. They'll both be playing in Boston again in the fall.

Which sucks for the free agency pool because I would have loved to see either one in a Pens uniform. Especially Kelly, proably my favorite non Pen.

Haha. Well I've never been drawn to the superstars and I love the guys on the bottom lines. Kelly does everything and is a leader on that Bruins team. He could proably play on the 2nd line if need be too.

Carey Price and P.K. Subban signed for over 5 seasons?

5 more seasons without a Stanley Cup.

Crosbys next contract could be 10 years and 90 million total. cap hit of 9 million. Pretty risky considering his concusion issues.

J. Staal is likely on the move. Carolina are the front runners. CBC hotstove.

Pavelec has an KHL offer. CBC Hotstove

According to hockeybuzz.com (not that this is a credible source, but it makes for interesting conversation)

Buffalo would like to keep Boyes at a lower price, but Washington and NYR are itnerested in Boyes' services.

Detroit, Boston, Winnipeg and Pittsburgh are on Matthew Carle.

Buffalo, Montreal, Los Angeles and Ottawa are on Paul Gaustad.

Toronto is first on Jiri Hudler, Dallas, Chicago, and Washington may be interested as well.

Boston is going to try to sign Harding along with Tampa Bay and Montreal.

Nashville and Phoenix will try to get Jokinen.

Kostitsyn may head to Washington, they're first in the race. Columbus and the NYI also want him.

The Philly Flyers and the Sharks are interested in Travis Moen.

Montreal, Buffalo and Florida have interest for Shane Doan and Ray Whitney.

Montreal and Boston have interest for Mason Raymond (remember, Bruins fans, dat "floper, floper!" ?)

Hordichuk Wants to Stay in Edmonton

Quote:
Edmonton, AB - Words can barely describe Darcy Hordichuk's desire to remain in Oilers silks.

The 31-year-old's one-year, $825,000 deal expires on Jun. 30, setting up another round at the NHL's once-a-year signing spree on Canada Day. But he has little interesting in testing the open market once again.

He wants to be an Oiler.

"I think I'm probably in the same position as the new coach that's coming in -- that's the unknown as to who it's going to be, and where you're going to end up," Hordichuk laughed as we caught up with him at the Oilers' annual Locker Room Sale at Rexall Place Sunday.

"I love this city and love playing for the organization. With these young kids and the future this team has, you can't help but want to be a part of it. I'm hoping I get a chance to re-sign here, but at the end of the day, you've got to see what happens. July 1st is coming around pretty quick, so I'm hoping to have some idea by then."

Called this one. It's risky, but then again, if he has to retire because of concussions, the cap hit is wiped off the books.

Oh God, NO! The Flyers aren't pawning their trash off on us. Let him go to Detroit, Boston or Winnipeg.

Didn't you report that the Canadiens were close to re-signing Moen?

They obviously feel he's worth the risk. Besides, I doubt their billionaire co-owner Ron Burkle really cares if he has to eat the remaining years of the contract after the insurance runs out.

Yes, because the Habs would win the cup much faster if they let both guys go right?
