Hossa and Kings talk

Quote:
If Marian Hossa doesn't take the Red Wings' long-term offer for between $4 and $5 million a year, Detroit will trade his negotiating rights, likely by Monday, two days before free agency opens.

Reliable sources say the Los Angeles Kings, who are looking for a marquee player and have lots of salary cap room, will come hardest after the unrestricted free agent. They could play Hossa with Anze Kopitar.

The Edmonton Oilers? They tried once, but have about $46 million committed to players for next season and have to sign Denis Grebeshkov, Ladislav Smid, Gilbert Brule, Liam Reddox and Jason Strudwick, plus bring back Dwayne Roloson at a good buck, or sign a free agent, or trade for Josh Harding.

Alot of people said that but I am pretty sure he said that he wants to play upwards of 3 more years. If thats the case and he is still productive then more power to ya.

I really hope Montreal picks up Lecavalier, hes been one of my all time favorite players along with Chris Drury.

Several websites, including Habsinsideout.com is claiming that Gainey is trying to get the Sedin twins in Montreal.

Looks like Manny Malhotra will be a free agent,He thinks he should be paid the same as a top 1st line center since he played with Nash most of the time but the team thinks differant.

Rumor has it the CBJ also told Peca,Williams to test the market.
