Well in the first trade, Travis Moen leaves, but Clifford comes. Clifford is better than Moen IMO, as a fighter and as a player, and he's younger.

Agreed on all your points. However I'd like to have both of them on the team.

No sh1t, but I guess the Kings do not want to lose a fighter without getting one back.

That trade makes little sense for the Kings. MAYBE Stoll/Kostitsyn part. But it's a stretch. Kings have a specific need; a LW that can contribute on the PP. For all the reasons fcm listed plus more, Clifford/Moen would never happen. There isn't a person in the Kings organization that doesn't love Clifford and what he brings.

Edit: Not to mention the Gill aspect of it... LESS than zero need for a Dman on the Kings.

You're looking at it wrong though.

It would be a Kost/Clifford .. and a Moen/Stoll. Gill is there because he is a proven playoff dman, who can shut down the other teams better players. Beyond that, I'm sure they would let him go.

Hey Nick, it's the Habs we are talking about. Nothing to worry about, they don't want Clifford... Probably looking at Lewis, fits their style more.

sources should be posted to make you not seem like a fool or are to be believed or not depending on who they are from.

ill bet too, most of those you posted are even from sources just fans making up what they would like to see.

Granted I know we're just discussing rumors (absurd ones at that). But.

It makes even less sense that way! Like I said, the Kings needs are very specific, Kost comes close but does not fill those. He would be the only part of the deal the Kings would kind of want but then the rest of the move isn't worth the trouble. As a whole it benefits the Kings in no way whatsoever.

And just to reiterate; They have no room for Gill at all if they don't move one, if not multiple, Dmen themselves. Johnson, Doughty, Scuderi, Greene, Voynov, Mitchell, Martinez, maybe he'd be ahead of Drewiskie... He does not fit.

I will admit his (Gill) salary is "okay" and teams would be interested, just not LA.

oh your most likely correct No fans are more fickle than Hab Fans ,I was just throwing those rumors out there to see if anyone else had heard them.Im not really in the practice of just making Hockey trades up off the top of my head. Some people on this site are a tad too combative and pessimistic IMO and would run and hide in a corner if confronted face to face.

While I do agree with you, and do not think this trade has any substance to it. If indeed the teams were talking, I would not, at all, be surprised that the team would want Gill. I would bet they would drop a starting dman for Gill, especially in the playoffs.

I think Kost also fills a need that the Kings lack, scoring. He still has the potential to do better than he has. Although he also could just be another waste of a 1st round draft pick.

Of course this trade is highly unlikely to happen, but as a Habs fan, I'd love to see it go through.

The rumors are stronger than ever about Andrei Kostitsyn. He will probably wear a Kings' jersey. Kyle Clifford would be the one that Pierre Gauthier is interested in, but also Voynov and Loktionov.

The announce should be made this afternoon or tonight if there is a trade.

Edit: Another hockey website talks about it now: http://www.toutsurlehockey.com/11206...a-los-angeles/

The Habs are officially offering their established players for youngsters and draft picks.
