Talk about a turn of events. Avery was run out of LA a couple of years ago for taking too many bad/stupid penalties, and now they're looking to get him back?

They lost alot of fan base when he left, didn't they? The guy's an entertainer & fills the seats which is ultimately most important.

The Kings fan base, as far as I can tell, hasn't been that great since Gretzky left.

Living down here in SoCal, during hockey season, most of the attention hockey-wise is focused on the Ducks, but the majority of all attention is focused on the Lakers and Clippers.

Also according to fourth period, Hawks are shopping Khabibulin, most likely to the Kings, who desperately could use the goaltending help after all the problems they've had the last couple of years.

Dean said he really doesn't want to do much with the goaltending, Only wants to offer maybe a 1 year to a bridge player.

7:14pm ET - Habs still in mix for Sundin, with a 2-year offer, but also going after Hossa. Likely come down to who says 'yes' first (if one does)...

A couple of notes.

Wade Redden should be signing with an Eastern Conference team within the next hour. Apparently he's narrowed it down to two teams.

Joe Sakic will be returning to the NHL next season.

Marian Hossa won't be signing with any team today. He'll likely sign a contract sometime tomorrow.

Just curious where you heard this, Hordi. I'd posted the same thing about Hossa a couple of posts earlier, and I saw some news and notes about Redden, but nothing about Sakic.
