Wing's Ken Holland: Rolston too pricey, talks with Bertuzzi

Quote:
Regarding Bertuzzi, whom the Wings traded for in February of 2007 and tried to re-sign last summer, Holland said he would “stay in touch” with Bertuzzi’s agent. “I was happy with the job he did here,” Holland said of Bertuzzi. “We’re exploring.”

Sportsnet was saying the Pens are offering Jagr a contract.

Pens do not make an offer to Laraque

"The Penguins have not extended an offer to right wing Georges Laraque, who is generating interest from various clubs. Laraque, known as one of the more effective enforcers in the NHL, scored four goals and recorded 15 points in 88 regular-season games with the Penguins over the past two seasons. He earned $1.2 million last season."

According to Greg Logan of Newsday, the Islanders have had discussions with their two primary targets in Ron Hainsey and Doug Weight.

Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli just an hour ago:

Quote:
We’ve basically been involved in two things so far today.

One of the negotiations was for a very elite player. Despite our efforts, basically we are not very high on this player’s list and it looks like there’s no shot at the player.
(Hossa I'm assuming)

Quote:
We’re closer with another player though, and right now it's just the waiting game….which is excruciating.

I’m sitting here waiting in my office. In addition to me, Cam’s spoken with the player, and Claude’s spoken with the player. It’s a lot about recruitment - selling the team and the city. That’s what we are trying to do.
wonder who this is?

Rangers eyeing Mark Streit?

Some quick items:

The Montreal defenseman's name has been bandied about as a potential PP QB....In all the tumult, I forgot to mention Adam Hall's three, yes, three, year deal with Tampa..I had mentioned the Jagr to Pittsburgh possibility in Sunday's story, and you wonder if mentor Mario Lemieux is on the phone schmoozing him. Nice way for Jags to end his career, full circle, and maybe with a Cup. But he's not out the door yet.

Funny, it started off real slow as far as official announcements. I've had Sportsnet, TSN and this site up all day to try to keep up.

Anyone have any Sharks news? Other than re-signing Shelley yesterday and losing Campbell and Rissmiller today, they've not done anything yet.

Sean Avery may be returning to the Kings?

TSN just reported there are talks between the kings and Avery's agent. Kings did not comment. They repeated what was said in a NY article listed below.

"It is believed the Kings' dismissal of head coach Marc Crawford has opened the door for Avery's return to LA. In a most ironic twist of fate, the Rangers may consider signing Avery antagonist and foil Darcy Tucker if he is bought out by the Maple Leafs, though the Toronto winger is but the most pale of imitations at this stage of his career."

http://www.nypost.com/seven/06202008...co__116325.htm

Also reported: The stars, wings, and maple leafs are all interested in Avery.

************************************

How fun will this team be to watch if the kings resign him? This kinda goes against everything Dean said he was wanting to do with the team. But lets see what happens.
