I read that the Bruins have made the strongest move for Hossa (12 years $100 million.) How mega was the Isles offer?

I was on a lil Ranger blog & everyone was crying about getting Avery back & how they hate Tucker. I told 'em all that they will learn to love Tucker within days, just like a Leaf fan would do if they land Avery. They are as similar as u can get.

Geez, I just read that the Rangers are making it their #1 priority to get Mats Sundin for a one-year deal, then use this in an attempt to lure Jagr back for a year to play with him. Yep, Sather is just obsessed with his one-year deals for old geezers.

Maybe Tornoto will get him that'd be great, and hopefully get Avery to. Avery, Godard, and Mayers on a line that'd be sweet or stick Ondrus or Newbery with Avery and Mayers.

12 years? Hossa's not even young, he's 29.

That's what I was thinking too. They want him till he's 41???? But that was their offer. The Rangers have a 7 year $55 million/w some perks for Hossa which makes more sense. That's why I was curious what the Isles had brewin.

I read Snow was going to make a pitch, but I haven't heard anything about numbers from the Isles camp. 7 years seems more realistic. Keep the guy until his mid-30s. Signing him until he's 41? Most guys retire before that point.

Pens have agreed to an extension with Malkin...

They also have worked out a new contract for center Evgeni Malkin. Although Malkin's deal has not been formalized, it will be patterned after Sidney Crosby's contract, running five years and including an annual salary-cap hit of $8.7 million.

Ha. Like he'd want to carry another teams offence all by himself. Go away Vancouver.
Wellwood and Sundin united again!

P.S. - Sedin-Sundin-Sedin

Yikes. Just heard that on TSN as well.

None of the top 10 UFAs have been signed yet - should make for an interesting afternoon.

Yep, Ranger GM has a nice offer that includes Medicare in case he breaks a hip. I dunno why I'm not the least bit excited about this. I should be feeling some sort of emotion here. U should see my game face right now.
