Bob McKenzie was talking about Avery tonight. He said Sean wants to re-sign with the Rangers, but he's not a priority for NY as they'll probably take a shot at Campbell. If he can't be in NY, he'd like to sign in Toronto. Toronto. That would be awesome on so many levels.

That would be amazing. It would be even better If Tucker stayed with Toronto. Tucker - Newbury - Avery. as the piss people off line haha. Even though that wouldn't happen as Tucker and Avery are both good offensivly and Newbury isn't really.

I think Tucker will be a pretty happy camper for a little while, his wallet is fatter than ever.

Some Hossa stuff:
- Edmonton is willing to throw $9 million a year at him
- Larry Brooks says Boston try an offer of 12 years, $100 million.

Rumor: Laraque to Predators?

The Predators are expected to peruse the enforcer market today, as unrestricted free agency begins. Jody Shelley was taken off the board Monday when he re-signed with San Jose. But a number of tough guys — including Pittsburgh's Georges Laraque — still appeared on the way to free agency as of Monday evening.

From the Calgary Sun:
The club will have to find a replacement for tough guy Eric Godard, whose agent Michael Wulkan said yesterday will hit the free-agent market and likely get a more attractive offer than the one the Flames were willing to provide.

Also from his blog: "the Isles are putting together a mega offer for Hossa". Apparantly they are also interested in Ron Hainsy.

The Leafs & Hawks have given him the same offer also (according to NY papers.) The Rangers offer stands at 4 years 12 million with bonuses if he reaches some goals. Also I think the Rangers are prepared to go after Tucker if they lose Avery. Wouldn't it be crazy if Avery & Tucker swap teams?

That would be interesting. Obviously he wants to stay in NY, but he wants Toronto as his second choice. I read Cliff doesn't want him, but I would love him. Tucker is gonna get ya 20 goals no matter what, I guess double digit teams are interested Tucker.

I hope Godard comes back to the Eastern Conference! The East is getting thin with the loss of McGrattan, Bam Bam, and possibly BGL. Though, the latter is no big loss, IMO.
