Flyers Trade Matt Ellison to Nashville
The Philadelphia Flyers announced that they have traded right wing Matt Ellison to the Nashville Predators in exchange for future considerations, according to General Manager Paul Holmgren.
Ellison, 23, was scoreless in two games for the Flyers this past season. He recorded 12 goals and 27 assists for 39 points and 43 penalty minutes in 62 games for the Flyers’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Philadelphia Phantoms. He was acquired, along with a third round pick in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, from the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for Patrick Sharp and Eric Meloche on December 5, 2005. In 43 career NHL regular season games over three seasons with Chicago (2003-04 and 2005-06) and the Flyers (2005-06 and 2006-07), Ellison has registered three goals and 11 assists for 14 points and 19 penalty minutes. |

I'm surprised Nashville didn't try to get back Upshall. Still bitter about what they gave up for Forsberg. Maybe new guy just needs a little different kind of coaching at the AHL level. I'm guessing I'll be seeing alot of him in Milwaukee this year.

I know it's off the subject, but Wow...
When I saw Robitaille on your list of scrappers, I thought you were nuts. Looked at the Bears fight card for this year and actually saw his name come up quite a few times. The surprise comes in because when he played against Milwaukee for the Calder last year, he'd instigate and then run behind the ref like a little b*tch. Maybe Hershey got sick of his act and made him stand up and drop his own gloves instead of someone else on the team having to cleanup his mess.

No chance on the Flyers giving Upshall back. He did really well upon hhis arrival in Philly, endearing himself to management and the fans. I really think he's gonna be a big part ofthe rebuilding process. Good luck w/Ellison in Milwaukee...as I said before, I don't think he'll amount to more than an incosistent minor leauger. |
