Flyers Trade Darroll Powe to Minnesota

The Philadelphia Flyers announced today that they have acquired the Minnesota Wild’s third-round pick in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft in exchange for C Darroll Powe, according to general manager Paul Holmgren.

Powe, 26 (6/22/85), signed with the Flyers in 2007 as an undrafted free agent out of Princeton University. In 204 career NHL games with the Flyers, he posted 22 goals and 21 assists for 41 points along with 130 PIM.

Maybe. But at the same time the Flyers did get 3 players for 2 didn't they? I think most people expect Schenn to be up in the NHL next year, right?

Minny fans will really like Powe, plays at 110% all the time, throws hard but clean body checks and is good on the pk. I'm sorry to see him go. Solid 4th line guy.

We do need PK guys now. Richards was one of the best at it. We lost Powe who played on the PK as well. Does Z play on the PK?

I think Wild fans will like Powe. Hes an energy guy who is good in his own zone, give 100% ALL the time, good on the PK, hits, and can fight (doesnt do it enough, I think he would be decent at it).

I dunno but the way I see it if Schenn will step right into Richard's spot essentially, with less offense. Schenn can play the PK, and yeah Konopka could too.

Another guy I liked gone. This bothers me but it will really annoy me if Nodl stays around. Nodl is like my Jody Hull of the new millenium...I have no clue who he has photos of so that he stays around.

Yea, Powe always hustles and he's a smart kid (Princeton). Throws his body around recklessly and is the definition of a grinder. You'll like him.

EDIT: Yes I just realized they re-signed the Noodle, so yea it's irritating...

Awesome. A replacement for Mittens that will actually hit someone.

Fletcher continuing to make good moves this offseason. All that's left is to buy out or trade Barker for a bag of pucks.

Yeah, I was expecting to see Madden as a return for Powe.

Damn, I always liked Powe. He plays hard, and honestly I thought he should have gotten more ice time than he did. At least over scrubs like Nodl and in those road games where Carkillo forgot to pack his nuts anyway.

Madden is a UFA and is leaning towards retirement, from what has been passed along.

What makes you say that?

He's fought essentially once a year since coming into the league, and hasn't embarrassed himself with the mitts off in the NHL.. not to mention 8 fights in the AHL one year.

Huh, pretty random, but I like it. Powe and Clutterbuck on a line would be ****ing epic, constant hitting! Too be honest also, I'd like Madden to play one more year for us.

Not sure how are lines look though.
