Flyers Sign Kyle Flanagan to Entry-Level Contract
The Philadelphia Flyers have agreed to terms with 5-9, 170lb free agent center Kyle Flanagan on a one-year entry-level contract for the 2013-14 season, according to general manager Paul Holmgren. Flanagan will join the Flyers’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Adirondack Phantoms, on an amateur tryout agreement for the remainder of the 2012-13 season.
Flanagan, 24 (12/30/1988), recently completed his senior season at St. Lawrence University (ECAC) in his hometown of Canton, NY. He recorded 15 goals and 32 assists for 47 points over the course of 35 games in his final year, which was his second as a captain of the Saints. Over the course of his four-year career with St. Lawrence, Flanagan scored 46 goals and added 101 assists for 147 points in 134 games. This evening, Flanagan was also named a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award as the top collegiate player of the 2012-13 season. Prior to his career at St. Lawrence, Flanagan played two seasons for the Cedar Rapids Roughriders of the United States Hockey League, where he had 29 goals and 64 assists for 93 points in 117 games.
