That's as solid of a backup as you are going to find right now.
Toskala's were the closely the same as Sharks backup, saying much? 2.35 .908 4SO

Not bad for a back up guy. Will be better than what Niity was this past season. Also better than bringing back Esche.

If you want to talk about his numbers from last season, go ahead. But a 5 game NHL season two years ago won't impress anyone, or at least it shouldn't.

He was a beast that year in the A for the Phantoms though too. (if he didn't leave they were contenders for the cup) That's why San Jose signed him when they needed a back up at the deadline.

No. That's why they signed Emery, Boosh, and that Backlund or Backstrom dude awhile back. Biron was apparently asking for 5 mill a year.

Welcome home Brian!

Emery and Biron have both been awesome in the past. They both like to throw down. They both came cheap. IMO this is a good signing by Homer.

its official!,

The broad street bullies of our ERA are here!

They won't win games but they will win in the fight department 4 sure.

Now if only emery could teach Boucher how to fight, it would be like a remake of the Ottawa and Philly brawl when the flyers had Esche and sean Burke as a one two tandem in net.

Quoted so you can eat those words later. Why did you choose to bump this topic though?

Phew! Now that our goaltending situation is solved, let's work on trading Briere!

they are bound to beat the Leafs and Thrashers at least, so they won't be completely winless.

This move is being groaned because instead of going out and getting a legit #1 goalie, the Flyers grabbed another backup to back up their starter who should be a back up. Im glad your thrilled about two backups competeing for a starting job, but neither guy is good enough to be a starter. So calm down chief.
