Likely because of his season being cut short this year with the ACL injury (which I heard he's skating again) and his role being messed up with the lockout. At least that's what I'm thinking. Would you agree Chilly?

Good move for depth and honestly, when helathy, i'd take him over Fedetenko, Wellwood, Harry Z any time. Guy goes hard every shift and is a leader.

my guess is that they know he's going to be healthy and don't want to lose him as was probably gonna be a call-up over wellwood or zolniercyzk. personally i could see him making the roster IF the flyers don't go bat **** crazy signing college free agents or re-signing turds like fedotenko.

tell me about it. That's the whole issue with the Phantoms. They've had some luck/diamond in the roughs in undrafted players but have gone over board on signing college free agents. (As well as guys from Juniors.)

Though I will say that there's some guys who have earned it and have played their tales off while the rest are just mediocre to invisible most nights. (Eddy and Roe for example)

Holmstrom though SHOULD be the call up over those guys. He can play all three forward spots, is fast/hits/stirs the pot/scraps a little albeit not that great at it/plays both ends of the rink where he can be offensive or a grinder.
