Flyers Ink Andreas Lilja
The Philadelphia Flyers announced today that they have signed 6-3, 220-lb free agent D Andreas Lilja to a contract, according to general manager Paul Holmgren.

Lilja, 35 (7/13/1975), comes to the Flyers from the Anaheim Ducks, where he scored a goal and added six assists for seven points in 52 games last season. He spent the previous five years with the Detroit Red Wings, posting seven goals and 40 assists for 47 points in 298 games.

Over parts of 10 NHL seasons with the Ducks, Red Wings, Florida and Los Angeles, Lilja has collected 16 goals and 65 assists for 81 points in 530 games, while collecting a plus-24 rating and 529 PIM.

He was just awful for the Ducks in the playoffs vs the Preds.

I thought he would sign in Europe?

He's missed most of the last 2 years because of a concussion from a fight. He ain't dropping the gloves anymore.

Im speechless, we got rid of all of our toughness. Bye Bye Walker. With the way our team is built, I cant see how we are any closer to winning a cup. Lilja for 3 years? Thats too long IMO.
