Flyers' Harry Zolnierczyk Suspended Four Games for Charging

NEW YORK-- Philadelphia Flyers forward Harry Zolnierczyk has been suspended for four games, without pay, for charging Ottawa Senators defenseman Mike Lundin during NHL Game No. 302 in Philadelphia on Saturday, Mar. 2, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and based on his average annual salary, Zolnierczyk will forfeit $12,972.96. The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.

The incident occurred at 9:13 of thefirst period. Zolnierczyk was assessed a major penalty for charging and game misconduct.

4 is way too much, but i dont really like harry z to begin with so it doest break my heart. but i dont know how he got 4 games for this while erskine got 3 games for a blatant elbow to the face. Consistancy is a huge deal. i think he got 4 cuz he got off from the other one

That's why I posted the Shanny educational videos because I was so confused about his rulings on other hits. I know Flyers fans are upset about this call and to a certain extent I can't blame them. 4 game is a little steep but a suspension was warranted.

I hate suspensions, but how does this get 4 games and Hall got what...like 2 games? No prior history for either player. I wonder how the punishments were determined?

he left his feet a fraction of a second too soon. You guys are seriously delusional. It's not like he left a second or two before leaving hitting him. I hate getting into who's a homer/who's not (and I'm not a homer) but seriously...good grief.

4 games is a joke. But it's whatever. Harry Z doesn't make a difference in the lineup.

Lundin should be suspended for being an idiot and skating across the blueline with his head down. Don't mean to be rude, but he deserves to be out awhile for making that mistake. Hopefully he learns.

Harry needs to make a clean hit next time. Instead of dropping his shoulder into the guy's chest, just cross check him in the face.
