I hope Shanahan does us a favor and suspends him for the rest of the season

Yeah, he left his feet, and yeah, he deserved the penalty. But why can't it just be left at that?

Forget it, like I said in the fight thread, I'm tired of wasting my time complaining about this bull****. Bottom line, there should be no suspension, but with today's pussified NHL, he'll get 2-3 games.

His punishment should be a Neil beatdown. Ahhh memories of Flyers/Sens from 2004.

cause if he left his feet and targeted his head then he's double f-ed, but didnt look like completely head.

i think jumping on a charge should be automatic 2 or 3 games and slewfoots 5. gutless plays

This one really can't be argued, can it? Left the feet, contact with the head. Even if his intention wasn't to hit the head, he still hit the head. No room in the game for that.

I'd ask, if Matt Cooke did this, what would the reaction be? That should be your answer for this situation.

The difference is Cooke has a reputation, while Zolnierczyk does not. That will be the only thing that saves him from a double-digit suspension. And I still disagree that they should be suspending guys for hits like that, when it's clear that it was not a deliberate attempt to injure, which should be the criteria for most suspensions.

This was as beautiful and perfect of a hit as you'll ever see in this sport.

What the **** is the hearing for? So what he hit the dude in the head? He didn't blindside him; in fact, Zolnierczyk came from in front of Lundin and not the side. It shouldn't be Harry Z's fault that Lundin picked his head up and saw the hit coming, yet still did nothing to try to avoid it.

Beauty of a hit Zolnierczyk -- please be sure to tell Shanahan to stick whatever supplemental discipline he has in mind straight up his own ass.

Deliberate attempts to injure or just being a dope...it really doesn't matter. He left his feet, hit him in the head, and gave the guy a concussion. He deserves a suspension.

Like some others, I don't think he left his feet prior to contact either. Where his feet end up after contact is irrelevant. Beauty of a hit just like his one against the Caps. I don't mind him in the lineup if he's going to be hitting like that. Lavy, however, may be questioning his coach's pet status at this point.

Thank you.

No elbow, shoulder was down, didnt target the head... the idiots head was so far down he looked like a 12 year old skating.... He should have let up??he shouldnt have left his feet (2 inches)???? Jesus.. Its sad that the young fans are conditioned by the NHL to think this. I had a psycho football coach in college and if we ever had the chance to crush someone coming across the middle and didnt hit him in the head as hard as we possibly could, he would scream at us then bench us(hence the headhunter nickname) Its my fault, my mentality is you should never "let up" in any sport with hitting or you shouldnt be playing the sport.

We live is a soft generation, and its a shame. People are fukin sissies anymore. Further proof of that sits here. Got people on a fight site calling for 5-10 games. Get out of here you fuking girl scouts. Sad sad group of "men" these days.

I think he should be handed a Philly cheesesteak and a cold beer. Wiz Wit. The phone call should just be to let him know we didn't forget how awesome it was.

Beauty of a hit.. perfectly timed too! But not in today's NHL... Just take open ice hits out of the game already, so tired of these calls.

Harry Zzzzzz finally showing some physical play in the last few weeks (still sucks) and this one will cost him at least 3 games He can't score or fight so the occasional suspension for a dirty hit and the scrums that insue afterwards will be well worth it. Was hoping this might be the end for him in NHL but with Sestito gone there's no one tough to take his spot so I don't care if he's in or out anymore.
