(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Americans Vice President of Hockey Operations Ted Nolan announced today that the Florida Panthers have recalled forward Jeff Taffe.

A native of Hastings, Minnesota, Taffe rejoins the big club for the seventh time this season where he has one assist in 18 NHL games with the Panthers. Originally a first-round selection (30th overall) by the St. Louis Blues in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, the eighth-year pro currently ranks first on the team with 26 goals and third with 54 points in 58 American Hockey League contests with the Amerks this season. In his pro career, the 6-foot-3, 215-pound forward has collected 350 points (155+195) and 352 penalty minutes in 557 games.

This guy is a definition of a first round bust and career minor leaguer... and he also scored his first NHL since the 2007-2008 season in the 6-2 loss to Buffalo.
