Sarich is a good d-man, but not great, and not worth over 3 million a year, thats for sure. Sutter has been so desperate to beef up his blueline after losing Stuart and Hamrlik that he dealt for an old, injury prone player in Aucoin and severly overpaid on Sarich. Sutter has made some very questionable decisions with his team the last month or so....maybe he's losing it.

Still, the combo of an overpaid Sarich and Aucoin is a serious downgrade from Hamrlik and Stuart - after years of having a strong blue line, the Flames don't look so special on defence anymore.

When you win a cup it gives GM the feeling that you can deal with the playoff madness and do it again. This can entice them to overpay.

I thought Sarich was solid for Tampa. Size, some speed , and will fight when necessary.

Alot of money but he is still in his 20's top of his game..

The Rangers who overpay everyone signed two stiffs from Carolina last year and they are sorry for it

Flames will have a nice defensive and a good team-

Just wait and watch him play for the coach named Mike Keenan. If Mike thinks he can bring more to the game then in Tampa, Sarich will do whatever he is asked or sit on the bench.
